Funeral Services Held Here Tuesday
Jacob L. Boerstler, 51, of 201 South Broad street, a former deputy clerk of quarter sessions in Northampton County, who was employed by the U.S. Census Bureau, died Friday night at 7 o'clock in Easton Hospital.Mr. Boerstler was stricken with a heart attack Friday at about 4:30 p.m. at his office in the Easton Post Office building, and was rushed to the hospital by the ambulance. He had apparently suffered a slight attaack while motoring from Stroudsburg to Easton, but had continued the trip, only to collapse shortly after arriving at his office. He had spent the day in Stroudsburg on census work.
He had served three terms as deputy clerk of quarter sessions under Llewellyn D. Ritter. His final term expired in 1941. He had been employed as a census taker of manufacturers by the federal government. Before becoming a deputy clerk, Mr. Boerstler was employed by the D. L. and W. Railroad, and Weston Dodson Coal Co., Bethlehem, and also did stenographic work in the Northampton County Home. He also owned and operated the Moorestown Hotel at various times.
A native of Nazareth, and a graduate of Nazareth High School, he was a son of George W., and the late Anna Heckman Boerstler.
He was also a graduate of Churchman's Business College, Easton. He was a Democrat and was affiliated with many of the party's clubs and organizations. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, song leader of the Lion's Club; a member of Easton Elks; Easton Eagles; Sons of Veterans, and Lehman's Rod and Gun Club, Pike County.
Mr. Boerstler was also active in music circles as a pianist and an instrumentalist. He was director of the American Legion post band, and a former member of the Y.M.C.A. band, the Brown and Lynch American post band, Easton, and the Inter-state Band.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carrie L. Ziegler; and his father, both of town; three daughters, Mrs. George W. Wilkinson, of Bath RD 1; and Mrs. George Harstine and Mrs. James C. Diehl, both of town, and by two granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the F. W. Schmidt Mortuary, Belvidere and Fairview Sts. with the Rev. H. C. Snyder officiating. Interment was made in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton.

She served as Past President and former Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary along with assisting with many activities throughout the years. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. local chapter.
She is survived by her, two daughters, Sandra L. wife of Thomas Piatt of Nazareth, Pa. Susan wife of Stephen Waye of Crawfordsville, Indiana, son, George J. Harstine & wife Nancy of Stroudsburg, Pa, two sisters, Adele wife of Charles Nattress of Nazareth, Pa, Dolly wife of Bruce DeLong of Allentown, Pa, a brother, Albert Moyer & wife Helen of Allentown, Pa, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.

Bright A. Boerstler, 67, of 648 New street, Bethlehem, died of a heart condition this morning at 2 o'clock in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.He was the son of the late Joseph L. and Rebecca Whitesell Boerstler.
A carpenter by trade, he resided in Bethlehem for the last 15 years. He was a member of the Grover Cleveland Democratic Club and the Keystone Republican Club of Bethlehem, and the P.O.S. of A. of Nazareth.
He is survived by a brother, George Boerstler, proprietor of the Moorestown Hotel, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Bensing funeral home Moorestown, Tuesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. H. C. Snyder, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth, officiating. Interment will be in St. John's cemetery, Nazareth.

Deceased was a member of Temple No. 10, Ladies of the Golden Eagle, the American War Mothers, a life long membeer of the Nazareth Moravian Church and a member of the Dieners organization of that church.She is survived by her husband, two sons, Frank, of Cleveland, O., and George, of New York City, a daughter, Mrs. Emma Keiper, of New York City, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Hardley, of Plainfield, NJ.
