Raymond Blattenberger [Parents] was born on 19 Jan 1892 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA. He died in Apr 1971 in Cherry Hill, Camden Co., NJ. Raymond married Harriet Schubert Coles about 1914.

Raymond Blattenberger was nominated for the post of Public Printer by President Eisenhower in April, 1953. He served as head of the US Government Printing Office, the largest printing plant in the world. By 1956 his economical management policies had resulted in an increase of $8 million dollars in production with a 5% cut in costs, even though the worker's wages were raised six times. He was a member of the masons, the Philadelphia Union League, and the Downtown Club. In 1957 a book was written by William S. Keller of Buffalo, NY, titled "Raymond Blattenberger, a Tribute to the Man and his Heritage". An article about him also appeared in the Reader's Digest.

ESTHER BLATTENBERGER
Mrs. Esther W. Blattenberger, 85, of 10 Collegeview Court, Schnecksville, died Thursday in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center. She was the widow of Ralph C. Blattenberger.

Born in Camden, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Katherine (Banscher) Rode.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Surviving are a daughter, Lois C., wife of David J. Nowack, with whom she resided; a brother, Franklin A. of Tucson, Ariz., and a sister, Clara A., wife of Alfred Cain of Glassboro, N.J.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. There will be no calling hours. The Richard A. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 54 Summit Road, Schnecksville, is in charge of arrangements.

Services: A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25, 3:00 PM at Central Presbyterian Church, 7700 Davis Drive, Clayton, MO. 63105. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually impaired, 8770 Manchester Rd. St. Louis, MO. 63144.
