Mary A. Detrick, 84, of East Stroudsburg entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 9th at the VNA Hospice Home. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer L. Detrick Sr.

Born on March 24, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Clifford and Leila (Johns) Fetherman.

Mary lived in Monroe County most of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Throughout her life she brought great joy and happiness to all who knew her. She loved to knit, crochet, play Bingo, and never missed a baseball game or Nascar Race.

She had two brothers, the late Kenneth and Jacob Fetherman and one sister, the late Elaine Fetherman all of East Stroudsburg.

She is survived by her three children, Elmer L. Detrick Jr. and his wife Kathy of Stroudsburg, Brenda Huffman of East Stroudsburg, and David Detrick and his wife Paula of East Stroudsburg; four Grandchildren Greg Huffman, Dan Huffman, Keri and her husband Kevin Rash, and Jeff and his wife Liz Detrick; and eight great grand-children.

There will be a viewing on Friday, 14 of August 2015 from 11am to 1pm. Immediately following, the funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Wes Wales, will be held at the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home located at 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery, located at 501 Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

James Stanley Hallet Jr. [Parents] was born on 7 May 1916 in East Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PA. He died on 24 Dec 1990 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, Lehigh Co., PA and was buried on 27 Dec 1990 in Methodist Church Cemetery, Reeders, Monroe Co., PA. James married Verlo Marion Possinger.

J. Stanley Hallett was a co-owner of Possinger's Mountain View Lodge as well as Hallett and Lee Sand and Gravel Co. He was a life and charter member of the Jackson Township Fire Co., who had made him honorary chief. He was a member of the Reeders United Methodist Church as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106, Stroudsburg PA. (Source: Obituary in the 26 December 1990 "Pocono Record")

In 1940 Stanley Hallet Jr., age 23, a cutter for a printing company, was living in Jackson Twp., Monroe Co., PA, with his wife, Verlo Hallet, age 24, a sorter in a hosiery mill. Both were born in PA. (1940 census, microfilm roll T627_3575, Page 8A, household #153)

In 1970 and 1975 James S. Hallett Jr. was living in Reeders, PA.

J. Stanley Hallett, 74, of Reeders, PA, died Monday at St. Luke's Hospital.

He was employed as a binder at the Hughes Printing Co. of East Stroudsburg for 41 years, retiring in 1981. He was also co-owner of Possinger's Mountain View Lodge of Reeders and also co-owner of Hallett and Lee Sand and Gravel Co. of East Stroudsburg.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Stanley and Minnie Anthony Hallett. He was a life-long resident of the Reeders area. He and his wife, the former Verlo Possinger, had just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

He was a life and charter member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department and was made honorary chief of the department. He was a member of the Reeders United Methodist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106 in Stroudsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James S. of Reeders and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. Warner and Pula Funeral Home in Stroudsburg. Burial will be in Reeders Methodist Cemetery.

Verlo M. Hallett, 92, of Reeders, died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the VNA/Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of J. Stanley Hallett Jr., who died in 1990.

Born in Reeders, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Gertrude (Rinker) Possinger.

Verlo was a lifelong resident of the Reeders area. In her early years she along with her husband, Stanley, and Robert and Mary Lee owned and operated the Possinger Mount View Lodge and the Lee & Hallett Sand & Gravel Co. in Reeders for many years. She then ran the kitchen at the Train Coach in Tannersville for some years and later did housekeeping for several businesses throughout Monroe County. Verlo was a member of the Reeders United Methodist Church and was a lifelong auxiliary member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company.

She is survived by a son, James S. Hallett III and his wife, June, of Reeders; a granddaughter, Rachele Gaun and her husband, Damon, of Bangor; and two sisters, Beulah Deangelo of Reeders and Delores Paul of Stroudsburg; and a brother, Norman Possinger Jr., of Reeders; and her companion dog, Buddy. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney L. Hallett; sisters, Mary Lee and Gladys Osborne; and a brother, Claude Possinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg, with Pastor David Berryman officiating. Burial will be in the Reeders Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, Route 715, Reeders, PA 18352 or the VNA/Hospice House, 500 Independence Drive, East Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
