DRAPER J. BLATTENBERGER, 57, Black Lick, died suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 15, 1973.Born Aug. 15, 1916, in Roaring Springs, he was the son of Bruce and Loretta Ake Blattehberger.
He was an employe of Burrell Township.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth I. Mehaffie Blattenberger; three sons, Frederick, Homer City RD 2, and Draper and Bruce, at home; two daughters: Mrs. Hugh (Shirley) Boring, Erie, and Michele Lynne, at home; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel, Black Lick, and Paul, Erie, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Boring, Erie.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsvilie where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Albert Creighton will officiate and burial will be in the Blairsvilie Cemetery

ELIZABETH I. MEHAFFIE BLATTENBEKGER, 72, Deny, formerly of Black Lick, died Thursday, March 18, 1993, at Latrobe Area Hospital.The daughter of Andrew and Leona Airhart Mehaffie, she was born April 8, 1920, in Osceola Mills.
Mrs. Blattenberger had lived most of her life in Black Lick before moving to Derry two years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1979, she had been employed by Dean's Diner, Blairsville.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Fredrick H., Black Lick; Draper and Bruce, both of Stafford, Va.; Mrs. Hugh (Shirley) Boring, Black Lick, and Mrs. James (Michele) Kowchuck, Derry, with whom she resided; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great, great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Keith, Armagh; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Lou) Johnsonbaugh, St. Helena Island, S.C., and Mrs. Douglas (Lora) Mehaffie, Marysville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Draper J. Blattenberger, on Dec. 15, 1973; her parents; and three brothers: Harold, Richard and Paul Mehaffie.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Mark Dekle officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
