Richard J. Knauss Jr., 57, of Moore Twp., passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of Sheila (Johnson) Garren Knauss. They celebrated 21 years of marriage on July 1, 2016.Richard was born April 27, 1959 in Easton. Son of the late Richard J. Knauss, Sr. and Kathryn (Werkheiser) Schmidt.
Richard was self employed, he restored classic cars and was a painter at Bosch-Rexroth until 2014. He was a 1977 graduate of Nazareth High School. Richard loved animals, classic cars, and enjoyed going to car shows.
Besides his wife, Richard is survived by daughter, Candy Nguyen and husband Dr. Vu, Moore Twp. Grandchildren, Kayla Marsh and James Marsh, II. Sisters, Judy Bruchak and husband Jack, Bethlehem, Susan Grube, Easton, Sandra Amato and husband Douglas, Nazareth. Many nieces and nephews, along with his beloved pet shih-tzu, Toby.

Personal: His first wife, the former Doris Shappell, died in 1979. He owned and operated the former Parkside Garage, Phillipsburg, for six years. Prior to that, he worked as a mechanic for Mrs. Smith's Pies for 15 years. Fred was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on stock cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors: his wife, the former Margaret Reilly; two daughters, Bonnie L. Hofffman and her husband, Jay, of Wilson Borough and Linda L. Hoadley and her husband, Ronald, of Palmer Township; two brothers, Jerry J. of Phillipsburg and Robert of Ark.; a sister, Ethel Dietz of Harmony; four grandchildren Jonathan and Jason Hoadley, Rebecca Olesky and Joshua Hoffman; a great-granddaughter, Emma Hoadley; a stepson, two stepdaughters; and seven step-grandchildren.
